Connecting a model endpoint is only the beginning. Users need to supply input, understand waiting and failure states, save useful results, and know what their credits or subscription cover. I implement AI service integration within mobile products, with native iOS as my deepest specialty. My work here is app and API integration, not custom model training.
I build text and image input, permissions, request preparation, loading states, result presentation, and history. The interface should make it clear when a request is running, what failed, and whether trying again is useful. Provider responses need validation before the app treats them as usable content.
Backend boundaries and failure handling
I can connect a backend proxy for provider credentials and application-level access controls. We define timeouts, retries, request limits, and what gets persisted. A production feature also needs a clear policy for unavailable services and interrupted requests, including whether usage is charged.
Usage and payment behavior
I integrate credits, paywalls, and StoreKit purchase flows with the feature’s usage model. A local credit wallet and a server-owned balance have different recovery and abuse constraints. We choose that boundary deliberately and test how purchases, generation failures, and saved results interact.
Define the useful result before building the integration
Bring the user task, selected API or prototype, expected inputs, and usage model. I first check whether the API output supports the intended experience, then build a bounded flow with explicit failure behavior. Scope can include the mobile implementation, backend integration, monetization, and release preparation.
Built text/image generation flows against an existing backend, with SwiftData history, a Keychain credit wallet, and StoreKit 2 packs. Delivered as a buildable Xcode project; not an App Store launch or a custom model.
A non-AI app demonstrating SwiftData history, private CloudKit sync, StoreKit unlocks, and release validation. Relevant to the product foundations around an AI feature, not evidence of AI generation.
